The Proud UPSC IAS toppers

On 10th May 2016, UPSC exam result has been declared. Tina Dabi, a 22 years Delhi based girl who cracked the exams and secured 1st rank. She gives all her credit to her parents especially her mother who took voluntary retirement as engineering service officer [IES] just to support her. When she was asked about the secret of her success she disclosed it in single word “patience”. Patience is the key of her success. She started preparations when she was in 11th standard. She was also topper of CBSE and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College Delhi in Political science, she has been an all rounder student. She opted for Haryana cadre because of the patriarchal mindset prevailed in the region and gender inequality that always disturbs her. She says, “Study all the time is quite boring thing, I read novels a lot, especially of June Austen. Always keep yourself updated with issues happening around you. I am a news manic, won’t ask you to become one but start loving and following news. I am sure you will start enjoying it as well”.

Athar Amir Ul Shafi Khan, 23 years old Kashmir based boy secured 2nd position in the exams. His father is a teacher of Economics in a government higher secondary school, Anantnay. On the achievement of his son, father said “I am a proud father today. The best moment in a father’s life is when he is known by his children and today my son has given me this happiness”.

Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, 28 years old from Delhi secured 3rd position in his 4th attempt. He said his family and friends have shown a great faith in him during his preparation time. He started preparing after he completed his graduation. According to him, “A candidate should study dedicatedly and keep revising the things. There is no such parameter or schedule one should have to crack IAS, it all depends on the persons hard work and smart work”.
